In the bustling month of November, Ptr. James Quisquirin, National Coordinator (NC) of SM Philippines, led two impactful courses that subtly shifted perspectives and stirred hearts. The first course, an online Empowered to Influence (ETI) course, engaged 19 participants from Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines while the other was a Kairos Course, conducted in the province of Sorsogon, Philippines.
The feedback from participants in the ETI course was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing excitement to share their newfound insights within their local churches and spheres of influence.
Participants shared how the course changed their perspective on work and worship, emphasizing the value of worshiping God 24/7, anytime and anywhere. The NC of Vietnam expressed the desire to translate ETI into his mother language, intending to train his church members and extend the learning to other pastors.
During the final session, Ken Chua, author and developer of ETI, joined to discuss Kingdom Advance, differentiating it from Evangelistic Outreach. This distinction inspired participants to focus more on Kingdom Advance, fostering a kingdom movement. The engagement with Ken Chua left participants grateful for the opportunity to interact with him.
Following the course, a Procedural Facilitator Training (PFT) was conducted online, with 12 graduates joining. They crafted initial implementation plans, addressing key aspects such as when, where, how, who, why, and needs. Exciting plans emerged, including initiatives by Filipino teachers in Thailand and Vietnam and pastors within their local churches.
Meanwhile, the Kairos Course in Sorsogon, Philippines, stemmed from a previous course in Cebu among Partnership Facilitators (PF) of Compassion Intl’ Philippines. The PF of Sorsogon Province, moved by the experience, envisioned extending the course to the 12 partner local churches in the province, most of them under 30 years old.
Feedback from the Kairos Course participants in Sorsogon was encouraging, highlighting a shift in perspective on God and mission. Many expressed a newfound passion for blessing the unreached through regular prayer, giving, and mobilizing other churches for mission. In the closing challenge, a significant majority identified themselves as mobilizers, signalling a positive shift towards missional practices.
As the participants eagerly anticipate the upcoming Youth Kairos in their area, graduates have also been connected with a key facilitator in Legaspi City, further enhancing their network and opportunities for future collaboration.
We pray that the subtle transformation experienced by participants in both courses continue to radiate outward, setting the stage for a practical journey of growth and influence. May they create a ripple effect that promises to shape not only individual lives but also the collective narrative of those touched by these quiet yet powerful moments of learning.
