Youth Kairos: A Life-Changing Journey

From June 18 to 21, 2024, something extraordinary unfolded in the heart of Pagadian, Philippines. It was the Youth Kairos, gathering 118 participants from 10 local church partners across the Zamboanga del Sur cluster of Compassion Philippines. Guided by four head facilitators, 22 dedicated facilitators, coaches, and support teams, these young hearts embarked on a life-changing journey.
Three profound themes resonated deeply with every participant:
First and foremost was going back to their first love, Jesus Christ. All participants had grown up in the church, but many found their personal relationship with God growing cold amidst life’s challenges. Through the course, many recommitted their lives to Jesus.
Secondly, the participants gained a clearer understanding of their life’s purpose. It inspired them to discover their unique gifts and passions, aligning them with God’s purpose for their lives.
Lastly, the participants committed to being God’s witnesses in their spheres of influence, both in word and deed. They were challenged not only to speak about their faith but also to live it out authentically in their communities, schools, friends, and families.
The seeds sown during these four days will continue to bear fruit. As these 118 participants return to their daily lives, they carry with them a revived love for Jesus Christ, a clearer vision of their life’s mission, and a steadfast commitment to being authentic witnesses of their faith. We pray and hope that the impact of this event will ripple through their communities, schools, and families, bringing about positive change and a deeper sense of connection with God’s purpose.
