TUSfY in Mozambique: A New Generation on Mission with God

In previous years, the SM Team in Mozambique focused primarily on mobilizing pastors and church leaders, but in 2024, God gave us a fresh vision and mandate—to mobilize the youth. After months of prayer and preparation, we began to focus toward youth mobilization and, in September, launched the first-ever The Unfinished Story for Youth (TUSfY) in Portuguese.
We were blessed to have Noemi Marques, Int’l. Youth Mobilization (YM) Coordinator, and her husband Caleb join us to train and encourage our team. Delivering the course in Portuguese had a profound impact on all the participants, with facilitators amazed by the depth of engagement. The feedback clearly showed that participants not only understood the content but also responded with enthusiasm. It was especially inspiring to see young people recognize that their generation has a significant role to play in fulfilling the Great Commission, and an incredible opportunity to do so.
The second course was equally successful, with participants loving the interactive activities and opportunities to share their thoughts and ideas. Even the younger participants grew in confidence as they discussed in small groups and presented their feedback to their peers. One young man shared, “This course has changed my life and given me a new perspective—a mission for my life, to complete the work of Christ here in the world.”
We praise God for the eighty-nine young people who have attended these courses so far and for how He has challenged and impacted them. We are now working with some of the graduates, discipling them and providing opportunities for them to train as facilitators. Our goal is to develop a Youth Team with the vision of young people mobilizing and reaching more of their peers. Please pray for all the students as they put into practice what they have learned and for our team as we plan and implement the follow-up program.
