Reflections on Youth Mobilization (2026)
Noemi MarquesOctober 2026
As I look at youth mobilization in 2026, I reflect on what it means to hope and trust God through major seasons of change. In my own family’s journey, this year meant not only continuing our work and investment in YM, but also relocating to a new country and culture which brought its own unique challenges. There is so much potential that I feel like I could drown in all the mobilization possibilities and dreams. Bucharest is a vibrant international city, a place where cultures meet and young people are searching for real purpose and faith. And I know this scenario is familiar to many of you.

A big part of my year has been diving into the work of updating Youth Kairos (2nd Edition). To be honest, the research has felt overwhelming. Looking and reflecting on the youth culture today requires a lot. It is ever changing, constantly surprising and tech savy. At the same time, it has been so exciting. Every article shows fresh ways God is shaping this generation.
This year, I’ve had the joy of talking and writing with leaders from all over the world. A common thread unites them: longing to see a real spiritual revival among the younger generations. At a conference, I spoke with an NCT that deeply wants to see more young people involved in ministry, but they were struggling because they lacked enough leaders to run events, courses or programs to bring them in and cast the vision. As we talked, I felt compelled to share a simple principle: don’t stress about trying to gather massive crowds right away. Instead, invest in the few. Pour into a small, key group of individuals, and trust that God will use them to multiply and reach the many later. Real impact always starts small.

South Africa continues to set an amazing example through courses like TUSFY, showcasing that the intentional investment in a small group of leaders naturally brings in the young people we all want to mobilize.
“Youth mobilization through TUSFY has been an encouraging journey in Southern Africa. It is especially exciting seeing how young people leave the course encouraged and asking, ‘What can I do next?’ ‘How can I be part of what God is doing in our Generation?’. TUSFY helps them recognise that they have a role to play in God’s mission and equips them to take their next steps in reaching their generation and beyond. We believe it is an effective way of inspiring, equipping, and mobilizing young people across Southern Africa to become actively involved in God’s mission” – Eugie, youth mobilizer at Impact Mission Training SA
It reminds us that when young people are given a clear vision and strong biblical foundation, they can truly be catalysts in their communities.
I can not just look at 2026, I feel compelled to aspire to what is ahead. I wholeheartedly believe all these passionate leaders, incredible mobilizers already in our community are just the start of something bigger! Let us continue to plant the seeds and trust that God is already at work.
