Remembering Gulya

Gulya

We honor and remember Gulya, one of our mobilizers from Central Asia, who was recently called home after her fight with cancer. We are saddened by her loss, but greatly comforted that she is now with our Lord.

Our friends—Global Regional Coordinators of the Eurasia region—Marinda and Erika, write:

“It is with sadness that we share with you that Gulya, one of our key SM mobilizers, has passed away [this month]. She was so brave and such a fighter through this battle with cancer. But it was the Lord’s time for her to finish her race. Her work is complete! We thank the Lord for the time that she has been part of our SM family!

“Gulya was one of the first cross-cultural mission workers sent from Central Asia to the nations on mission. She later joined the SM team (she was being mentored to be a National Coordinator), and was a passionate mobilizer, wanting to see the church in her country arise for God’s glory.

“She has truly made such a huge impact amongst her own people, and we pray that those whose lives she touched will continue to carry the flame of mobilization and of being on mission with God!

“Thank you to all of you who have joined us in prayer for such a long time and have faithfully interceded for Gulya. We so greatly value your love and support and for standing with us and the team in Central Asia. She will be greatly missed by the team and they are heartbroken, but not discouraged! They know her race is finished (and she has finished it so well), but their race continues!

“Please pray with us for big growth in the mobilization movement in Central Asia and that God will raise up more leaders to continue the task of mobilization!”
